I am sick and tired of those stupid “curves are for real women, bones are for dogs” posters.
What if I am not curvy? What if I don’t have meat on me? Does that make me bones for a dog? Every woman is different, but we are ALL women, and NO body type is better than the other. To say that curvy girls are better than skinny girls, or that skinny girls are better than curvy girls is body shaming. It is sickening that women are being pitted against each other and trying to make themselves look better by bashing other girls’ bodies. We should be sticking up for one anther, not attacking each other because we have different body sizes. Men do that enough as it is to us; we don’t need to do it to each other too.
My friend tells me she posted it so she can give a boost of self esteem to fat girls. You shouldn’t feel better by bashing other women. That is not the right way to do it. Saying your body is better than anothers, and then calling her bones fit for a dog is insulting. And it will do more harm than good. Be happy with your body, but be happy without insulting anyone else’s
And you know what? Skinny girls are picked on just as much as fat girls. We are called anorexic or bulemic. We are frowned on or made fun of if we have a salad or even a big mac. NO ONE should be picked on for their body size. And for you to post that saying fat girls are better than skinny girls makes you no better than the skinny girls who pick on the fat girls. It is a vicious cycle and it needs to stop.
So just stop it. Stop being mean. Stop acting like a douche canoe and spreading these horrible posts. It is NOT boosting anyone’s self esteem. All you are doing is feeding the pigs that created the message.
If we ever want to get up from under the feet of oppressive men, who force us to believe that one body size is better than another, then we have to stop spreading their lies.
I was with you until the last line. You need to stop blaming men, it’s just as wrong as bashing other women for things they can’t control. The problem is humanity in general, not men. But other than that, I agree with this.
